Easy Sudoku

Easy Sudoku puzzles start with roughly 45 of the 81 squares already filled in, so most cells can be solved with simple scanning: look along a row, column, or 3x3 box and find the one place a number can go. They are ideal for learning the game, warming up, or a relaxing few minutes, and every puzzle has exactly one solution.

Logic & Number Puzzles Easy 1 Player

Easy Sudoku Rules

Fill the 9x9 grid so that every row, every column, and every 3x3 box contains each number from 1 to 9 exactly once.

The starting numbers can't be changed. Select an empty square and enter a number, or switch to pencil mode to jot down candidates.

The puzzle is solved when all 81 squares are filled correctly. Each puzzle is generated to have a single unique solution, so no guessing is ever required.

Easy Sudoku Strategy & Tips

Scan by number

Pick a number, say 5, and check each 3x3 box that doesn't contain it yet. Rows and columns that already have a 5 rule out squares, and often only one square remains.

Finish nearly full groups

A row, column, or box with only one or two blanks is the quickest win. Work out which numbers are missing and place them.

Use pencil marks sparingly

On easy puzzles you rarely need full candidate lists. Pencil in a pair of options when a square comes down to two numbers, then come back to it.

Move up when it feels easy
