Nonograms (Picross)
Nonograms, also known as Picross or Griddlers, are logic puzzles where you fill in cells on a grid according to number clues along the rows and columns. When solved correctly, the filled cells reveal a picture. It combines logic with the satisfaction of creating art.
Nonograms (Picross) Rules
Each row and column has a set of numbers (clues) that tell you how many consecutive filled cells appear in that line. For example, '3 1' means there's a group of 3 filled cells, then a gap of at least one empty cell, then 1 filled cell.
Left-click to fill a cell. Right-click (or use the toggle button) to mark a cell with an X — this means you're sure it should be empty. Marking empty cells helps you solve the puzzle faster.
The puzzle is complete when all cells are correctly filled or marked. The filled cells will form a recognizable picture.
Nonograms (Picross) Strategy & Tips
Start with the biggest clues
Look for rows or columns where the clue numbers add up to most of the row length. These are the easiest to solve because there are fewer possible arrangements.
Use overlap logic
If a clue of 7 must fit in a row of 10, the middle cells must be filled regardless of where the group starts. Calculate overlaps to find guaranteed cells.
Mark empty cells
Don't just fill cells — actively mark cells you know are empty with an X. This reduces ambiguity and makes patterns easier to spot.
Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between 5×5 and 10×10 puzzles?
5×5 puzzles are perfect for beginners and take 1-2 minutes. 10×10 puzzles are more complex, reveal more detailed pictures, and typically take 5-15 minutes.
